Bloglines working to make things better
August 17, 2006 by Giulio Piancastelli
Bloglines is still having difficulties with subscriptions and posts: yesterday evening it happened again, and I lost unread entries from random subscribed weblogs. At least, this time their problem report seems to be a little bit more concerned than last time.
Now my entries seems to have been restored. But I’m still considering: what about Bloglines alternatives? Desktop aggregators, well, there’s a lot of them; but it wouldn’t be the same. Perhaps a server somewhere on the net, and an installation of Planet, or the raising Planet Venus, would do.
What about BlogBridge? It’s a cross-platform destkop aggregator (Java based), it features a nice on-line free service to get your subscriptions (and reading status) synchronised through all of your computers. The site is http://www.blogbridge.com .
Sounds interesting. It’s probably worth a try before rolling out my own planet or something. Thanks a lot!
Despite a dozen emails, not one single reply from bloglines as to what is happening with this problem. I now have a number of “keep new” items that I cannot access. Anybody got any answers to garner a response from the “Customer Service” division?
